【Just Before Valentine's Day】"Shonan Women's Choice" Ranking of Towns They Want to Spend Time with Their Lovers! #1 is "Enoshima," While 1 in 3 Say "Haven't Decided Anything in Particular"
~While drawn to classic spots, Shonan women want to avoid crowds. The real romantic psychology of Shonan girls revealed~
Garage Standard Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Toshizumi Hotta), which operates "roomap," a real estate service specialized in the Shonan and Kamakura areas, conducted an "Awareness and Actual Behavior Survey on Valentine's Day" targeting women residing in the Shonan and Kamakura areas.
This survey examined not only dating intentions such as "which town they want to spend Valentine's Day in," but also the emotional distance between romance and daily life, including "places where they want to express or receive love" and "towns they want to live in in the future."
As a result, it became clear that while "Enoshima" is supported as a classic spot among Shonan women, a value system that doesn't strongly prioritize location has become widespread.

<Survey Summary>
- The #1 town women want to spend Valentine's Day with their partners in is Enoshima (20.8%)
- However, 33.2% of respondents answered "haven't decided yet," the highest percentage
- The deciding factors for date locations are "quiet and calm" and "good atmosphere"
- Approximately 46% did not specify a particular place as where they want to "express or receive love"
The town most chosen by Shonan women on Valentine's Day is "Enoshima"
When asked which Shonan area they most want to spend Valentine's Day with their partner in, Enoshima (20.8%) came in first. This was followed by Kamakura (10.4%) and Shichirigahama (4.5%), establishing classic areas representative of Shonan.
Enoshima is supported as an iconic Valentine's date destination due to its ocean views, night scenery, and abundance of dining options.
Still, 1 in 3 people "haven't decided yet"
~A Valentine's perspective not bound by location~
However, it's noteworthy that 33.2% of respondents answered "haven't decided yet," the highest percentage. This result suggests that many Shonan women are not bound by the fixed notion that "on Valentine's Day, you should go somewhere special."
Rather than the glamour of an event, their approach shows an emphasis on how the day unfolds and the relationship with their partner.
The deciding factor for date locations is "atmosphere" rather than "romance"
When asked why they chose the area in the previous question, a trend emerged where the "romantic seaside atmosphere" took a backseat to considerations of "being quiet and calm" and "easy to talk."
- Quiet and calm (16.5%)
- Abundant cafes and restaurants (15.7%)
- Beautiful sunset or night view (14.8%)
From these results, we can infer that a comfortable atmosphere where one can converse naturally is prioritized over flashy productions or extraordinary experiences.
Prioritizing relationships over "confession spots" ~Approximately half don't specify a particular location~
In the question asking about "Shonan spots where they want to express or receive love," Enoshima (23.3%) came in first, but combining "none in particular" (32.2%) and "don't know" (13.4%), approximately 46% do not emphasize a specific location.
This suggests that many Shonan women value their relationship and timing with their partner more than standard scenarios like "this place will make a confession successful."
【Summary / Analysis】What Shonan women seek is not "location" but "human warmth"
This survey reveals that for Shonan women, Valentine's Day is not viewed as "an event to spend in a special place," but rather as a day to cherish the emotional distance and atmosphere with their partner.
While Enoshima emerged as the most chosen symbolic area, the fact that many people don't strongly prioritize location suggests that the very essence of Shonan—the ability to "be oneself in relationships"—is what is being valued.
What Shonan women are seeking may be the "warmth" that flows between people, rather than glamorous productions.
